Dear Rockville Sister City Member, Friend, Supporter,
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of former Mayor of Rockville and longtime RSCC member and supporter, Phyllis R. Marcuccio. Phyllis, age 84, died on Tuesday, June 5th. She served on the Rockville City Council prior to serving two terms as Mayor of Rockville from 2009 – 2013. As Mayor of Rockville, President of the East Rockville Civic Association, her service on numerous boards, commissions and task forces, as well as her role as a founding member of the Rockville Science Center, Phyllis leaves a legacy from which future generations will benefit. Her candor and dedication to the citizens of Rockville was legendary. Phyllis was a dear personal friend and will be profoundly missed.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 22nd at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, located at 520 Veirs Mill Road in Rockville. A reception celebrating Phyllis’ life will follow.
